Bronchiectasis Causes Bronchiectasis is caused by damage to the larger airway wall space destroying the muscles and elastic cells layers that allow normal bronchial tubes to agreement. This damage decreases the power of the lung to move and apparent secretions that are usually produced in the lung. These pooled secretions cause increased prospect of an infection like bronchitis and pneumonia, which causes further damage to the bronchial walls. As mentioned above, this total results in a vicious routine in which increased damage leads to increased infection, leading to further harm. There are three principal types of bronchiectasis. These types are defined by their anatomical appearance. Cylindrical bronchiectasis may be the mildest form and reflects the increased loss of the normal tapering of the airways.Low reported adherence was associated with worries about taking antihypertensives.
